Ness Bank Guesthouse and the Environment
We aim to provide you with the best quality service whilst minimizing our impact on the environment.
We have put in place good environmental practices throughout the house which include the following:
- Using household cleaning and laundry products which do not harm the environment.
- Ensuring that efficient use of energy is undertaken within the business. This includes offering a towel drying service rather than washing towels every day. We also use low energy light bulbs in most parts of the house.
- Recycling household products, including glass, paper, cardboard and composting food waste
- Providing a natural habitat which encourages wildlife. Our bird feeders are popular the local birds and over 20 species have been recorded in the front garden.
- We buy local produce where possible. Our eggs are free range and/or organic and our meat comes from happy pigs.
A symbol of this commitment is membership of the STB Green Tourism Business Scheme. We have achieved a Silver Award and are now working our way towards a Gold.
We hope you enjoy your stay with us.
